We are working with a leading energy provider in Houston, Texas, that is seeking an experienced Pipeline Environmental Permitting Coordinator for a 6 month contract to lead the environmental permitting process for some upcoming oil and gas pipeline projects in that area.

Your Role:

  • Support both capital maintenance and expansion projects.
  • Manage external environmental/permitting consultants and review their work.
  • Provide technical guidance and permitting support to internal project teams.
  • Coordinate permitting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Help ensure projects comply with applicable federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Work with agencies and stakeholders as needed to obtain and maintain required permits.
  • Assess environmental risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and execute approved actions, including preparation of required regulatory documentation.
  • Lead or support environmental project planning activities such as scheduling, cost estimation, impact assessments, and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit complex environmental permit applications, renewals, approvals, and variances, and maintain accurate permitting schedules aligned with project milestones.
  • Conduct environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations.
  • Identify training needs and provide guidance, mentorship, and training to others.
  • Monitor regulatory changes (e.g., FERC, NEPA, Clean Water Act, ESA, NHPA) and evaluate impacts on project timelines, costs, and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate construction-phase compliance requirements (e.g., FERC certificate conditions, spill prevention, and restoration commitments) and track implementation to closure.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement improvements in air, water, waste management, and remediation systems.
  • Cultivate relationships with regulatory agencies and prepares status reports and briefings for leadership and project stakeholders.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental permitting processes, including FERC and NEPA requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple permits across large-scale projects with aggressive deadlines.
  • Skilled in developing permitting timelines and integrating them into overall project schedules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for agency coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external consultants effectively.
  • Commitment to environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving permitting challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with natural gas or interstate pipeline systems.
  • Experience managing or coordinating permitting consultants.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital projects or pipeline expansion/maintenance projects.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations applicable to pipeline construction and maintenance.

We are working with a growing engineering company in the Toledo, Ohio area that is actively seeking an Electrical Power Systems Commissioning Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and efficient commissioning and startup of power generation and energy systems.

Your Role:

You will provide electrical engineering expertise throughout pre-commissioning, commissioning, and turnover, ensuring systems are properly tested, verified, and ready for operation.

  • Execute and oversee electrical testing activities (e.g., insulation resistance, hi-pot, relay testing, functional verification)
  • Support pre-commissioning activities, including loop checks, calibration, and protection system verification
  • Coordinate and participate in FAT, SAT, PSSR, and RFSU processes to ensure systems meet requirements for startup and turnover
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Construction, Commissioning, Controls, and Operations teams to ensure aligned execution and system readiness
  • Work directly in the field to support testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution during commissioning and startup
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and company safety requirements
  • Support BESS and power generation system integration, including system-level testing and performance validation
  • Develop and maintain commissioning documentation, including ITRs, test records, redlines, and turnover packages
  • Identify, track, and drive resolution of punch list items prior to system handover
  • Coordinate with vendors to support installation, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Promote continuous improvement and support development of standardized commissioning processes and tools
  • Mentor and support development of junior engineers

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Electrical power systems and equipment (switchgear, transformers, generators)
    • Electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and control systems
    • Commissioning, testing, and startup processes
    • Proficiency with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Experience with protection relay testing and electrical test equipment (e.g., Omicron, Doble, Megger)
  • Understanding of:
    • Protection coordination and arc flash analysis
    • Grid integration and energy storage systems
    • DCS/SCADA systems and electrical integration

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology

We are working with a leading Oil & Energy Engineering firm that is actively seeking an experienced Offshore Construction Planner to perform responsibilities on a high-priority offshore project project, working from their office in Houston, Texas.

Your Role:

Working closely with the prime contractor and its subcontractors, you will create and manage project schedules, timelines, and resource allocations.

  • Work with the contractor and subcontractors to map out each step and activity, to ensure the project finishes on time and within established cost guidelines
  • Predicate and communicate any potential delays before they happen.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors in reviewing and building step-by-step master timelines using software, specifically Primavera P6 (or MS Project if needed)
  • Meet regularly with the project team, contractor and subcontractors, and suppliers to keep everyone and every activity aligned
  • Track daily and weekly site progress and report updates back to the program lead scheduler, project team and stakeholders
  • Be on the lookout and identify potential bottlenecks, vessel standby, or delays
  • Create backup plans to keep work moving
  • Create alternate schedules for differing execution scenarios to evaluate potential project cost, risk, and ISD alternatives.

Required Skills:

  • Technical literacy to understand scheduling tools, scopes of work, project drawings, and project software
  • Clear communication and interaction with on-site personnel, the project team, and stakeholders
  • Organizational and time management skills while juggling multiple timelines, delivery dates, and shifting priorities
  • Ability to break a large complex offshore project into logical vessel work-fronts.?

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required as a minimum
  • 10 years of hands-on offshore construction planning and scheduling experience on large, complex offshore projects
  • Strong hands-on Primavera P6 experience developing and managing detailed project schedules
  • Direct experience with pipelay, infield development, diving, dredging/trenching, or offshore installation
  • Proven live/in-flight project experience with progress tracking, delay prediction, recovery planning, and risk mitigation
  • Strong contractor/subcontractor coordination skills, with the ability to manage vessel work-fronts and communicate schedule risks effectively
