We are working with a leading site development engineering firm that is actively seeking an experienced Site Development Civil Engineer to oversee and expedite commercial, residential, and mixed-use land development projects from conception to completion, working from its office in Brambleton, Virginia, in the western Washington, DC area. This role features a dynamic mix of office work and active site visits.

Your Role

  • Lead and support the design and execution of land development projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage detailed project schedules and reports, from project inception through design, entitlement, permitting, construction and bond release.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage detailed cost projections, budgets, resource management plans, change orders, and plan changes with contractors and consultants, ensuring projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality expectations.

  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and payment applications.
  • Oversee site plan development, grading, stormwater management systems, utility and infrastructure designs in coordination with the Construction Engineer.
  • Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and manages the competitive bidding process for consultants, contractors, and vendors. Review and compares proposals for completeness, technical qualifications, project approach, pricing, and schedule; identify scope gaps and cost variances; negotiate where appropriate; and present bid evaluations and award recommendations to the Executive Vice President for approval. Coordinate contract execution following award.
  • Manage relationships with consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, utilities, public agencies, and regulatory bodies to keep land development work progressing efficiently.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and documents to confirm alignment with project goals. Amend plans as necessary to accommodate changes to expedite bond release.
  • Partner with the Field Operations Project Manager to facilitate the transition from design to construction by coordinating project schedules, construction logistics, contractor activities, design clarifications, and field modifications. Ensure project changes are communicated effectively and incorporated into budgets, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Manage the implementation and administration of development proffers throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate with civil engineers, land use attorneys, consultants, and Loudoun County staff to ensure all applicable proffer obligations are accurately incorporated into site plans, construction documents, and project schedules. Develop and maintain comprehensive proffer tracking logs, monitors compliance milestones, coordinates the completion of required improvements and contributions, and prepares, assembles, and submits supporting documentation to the County to demonstrate satisfaction of proffer obligations and facilitate formal proffer release or acceptance.
  • Regularly visit job sites, monitor progress, and in coordination with the Construction Engineer, quickly address any construction challenges that arise.
  • In coordination with the Field Operations Project Manager, receive and facilitate timely responses to project concerns raised by owners, residents, tenants, builders, agencies, and association representatives.
  • Establish and uphold quality control standards across all projects. Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and company guidelines.

We are working with a growing employee-owned process controls engineering firm who are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Execution Systems Engineer (MES Engineer) to work in the Life Sciences industry remotely in the Raleigh, North Carolina, area.

This will be hybrid in North Carolina and will include 25% travel. Your Role:

  • You will work to deliver innovative MES solutions and design standards for Life Sciences clients, either individually or as a leader of a team.

We are working with a growing employee-owned automation and controls engineering firm, who is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with extensive experience with Emerson DeltaV systems, to lead the design, implementation, and project management of large-scale capital automation projects within the Life Sciences industry, working from their office in Raleigh, North Carolina. You will also travel up to 25% to client sites for site support and commissioning.

Your Role:

This role requires proficiency with Emerson DeltaV systems in the Life Sciences realm, and a strong technical background in designing and delivering cGMP-compliant automation solutions.. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complete project life cycles, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize biopharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing processes.

  • Design and implement DeltaV control systems for complex Life Sciences capital projects
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring on-time and within-budget project execution
  • Lead system architecture development and control strategies to enhance manufacturing efficiency
  • Design batch sequencing, phase logic, and recipe structures to optimize production efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Develop DeltaV graphics using DeltaV Live and DeltaV Operate in alignment with ISA-101 HMI guidelines
  • Utilize a class-based approach in overall design to maximize scalability and standardization across projects
  • Develop electrical designs, including power distribution, panel layouts, and grounding strategies for automation systems

  • Define computing infrastructure requirements, including server architecture, virtualization, cybersecurity, and redundancy planning
  • Design, plan, and specify DeltaV system licensing based on user requirements and project scope to ensure cost-effective and scalable solutions
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to commissioning and validation
  • Ensure project deliveries and execution methodology compliance with GAMP5, cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and industry best practices
  • Develop acceptance protocols and manage the execution of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate system performance
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers and cross-disciplinary teams
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success
  • Implement advanced automation strategies, including ISA-88 batch processing, historian integration, and alarm management
  • Troubleshoot complex automation challenges and drive continuous improvements in system performance

Required Skills:

We are seeking a Senior PLC Controls Engineer to join the team at a growing engineering consulting firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to provide team leadership in delivering automation systems for a wide variety of industries, implementing automation solutions with multiple control systems including PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms, with emphasis on Rockwell and Cimplicity.

Your Role:

In this role you will interact directly with the customer and lead a team of engineers in identifying requirements, developing specifications, and implementing/testing/commissioning/qualifying automation solutions. This position is a leadership role within the business unit and requires strong problem-solving ability, well-balanced people skills, an aptitude for business efficiency, and an interest in creating partnerships.

  • You will deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards either on your own or as a leader of a team.
  • You must have the ability to conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery that meet our customer’s requirements.  This involves the development of a control system architecture, selecting the components to be used, detailing schematic diagrams and system documentation, programming controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU), programming the process visualization (HMI/SCADA), developing databases for archiving/displaying historical system data and implementing/commissioning the control system at the client’s facility.  
  • Knowledge of controller programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and others to achieve the desired results is required.  
  • Also having knowledge of standard programming languages such as VBA, .NET, and SQL for the development of HMI/SCADA systems is preferred
  • For larger systems, experience with industrial networking used to connect control system components and instrumentation is preferred.
  • You will design, detail, and implement a variety of fiber, wired, and wireless systems using industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.)
  • This position oftentimes requires the following project management responsibilities: developing project execution plans, work breakdown structures and associated budgets, task prioritization and scheduling, task ordering, time tracking and reporting, financial tracking and reporting, early problem identification, conflict management/resolution, leading and supporting a team, and attending project status meetings. Also includes overseeing daily operations and activities of a project(s) up to $1M. This position is often responsible for ensuring the overall profitability of the project
  • The ideal candidate must have a diverse engineering skillset with the ability to work independently. Will act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians.  Could also act as Project Manager on smaller projects.
