We are working with a growing employee-owned engineering firm who is looking to add an experienced Bridge Construction Project Manager to their team in Herndon, Virginia, to work on a wide range of projects, from smaller $5M–$10M efforts to large, complex, regionally significant projects and design-build pursuits.

They are willing to provide a sign-on bonus for relocation assistance for the right person.

You will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday), and 2 days remote (Wednesday and Friday).

Your Role:

You will help lead and deliver a growing portfolio of bridge and transportation structure projects across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic. This role is ideal for a senior bridge engineer who is actively transitioning into a client-facing project management role and wants to take the next step in leadership, oversight, and delivery responsibility.

  • Lead multiple bridge and structural projects in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, building strong working relationships and managing expectations
  • Coordinate and guide technical resources within the project team to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Provide technical oversight and direction to bridge/structural staff; not expected to perform daily design, but must be comfortable reviewing work and making technical decisions
  • Develop and manage project management plans, quality management plans, schedules, and staffing plans
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Manage subconsultants and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
  • Communicate project status, updates, risks, and financial performance to internal leadership and clients
  • Prepare and review progress reports, invoices, and project status presentations
  • Participate in project financial reviews and office leadership meetings
  • Support staff development through mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Assist with business development activities including client relationship development, proposal support, and interviews
  • Serve as a client champion and take on staff oversight / direct reports

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering
  • 10 or more years of bridge and structural design experience
  • Professional Engineer License in Virginia, or the ability to obtain one by reciprocity
  • Demonstrated project management experience or clear progression into a PM role
  • Strong client-facing communication and leadership skills (written and verbal)

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with VDOT, and Virginia localities and agencies
  • Experience with multiple project delivery methods i.e. Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3
  • Experience managing multidiscipline project teams
  • Prior experience working on complex or large-scale transportation infrastructure projects

We are working with a leading Engineering and Construction firm who is actively seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to work with their construction management team at one of their largest energy accounts in Houston, Texas.

Your Role:

You will be a key member of the Design and Construction management team, collaborating with a team of project managers who oversee capital project teams and stakeholders, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled throughout the design, construction, and implementation phases.

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated capital projects.
  • Review project proposal, establish work plans, and manage contractors to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop project schedules and execute according to plan for assigned projects. 
  • Evaluate the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and/or scheduling changes. 
  • Actively pursue additional work through change orders. 
  • Perform associated cost estimates, prepare proposals, and negotiate final settlement price and customer acceptance. 
  • Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and financial status to management as required. 
  • Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors.  
  • Attend and lead job progress meetings as required. 

Required Skills:

  • Project Engineering including following specifications, design adaptation by ensure design and specifications meet codes and specification
  • Sub-contractor management
  • Administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, minutes, maintaining documentation and customer liaison
  • Ability to embrace ambiguity and work effectively in environments with undefined processes
  • Strong Personal Computer working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment) as well as MS project, Procore and Bluebeam preferred

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of Construction/Project Management experience within new construction, renovations, MEP infrastructure, and working in critical environments preferred
  • OSHA 30 (or the ability to gain certification within 120 days of hire)
