We are working with a leading natural gas provider to provide an Electrical Engineer with experience in the Natural Gas or Petrochemical industry, working from their office in Houston, Texas, to provide support for their projects throughout the Gulf area.

You may travel up to 25% of the time to project in Texas and Louisiana.

This is a 12 month contract assignment, with potential direct hire opportunity. Your work schedule is hybrid – in office 4 days per week, and remote one day.

Your Role:

You will manage and provide support for gas pipeline projects, including electrical infrastructure reliability, condition-based maintenance, outage support, arc flash studies, and managing construction contractors.

  • Perform a wide spectrum of assignments, requiring technical evaluation, innovation, and judgement while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Work independently on mid-sized projects/technical assignments supporting operations
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry and operational requirements
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of safety requirements, produces results and meets goals
  • Exhibit proficiency in Company processes, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by organization and governing agencies
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to individuals
  • Interpret internal/external customer needs, assess requirements and identify responses
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs
  • Champion processes, procedure and safety standards
  • Coordinate third party contractors
  • Develop and complete equipment condition-based maintenance programs
  • Repair and improve operational reliability of electrical infrastructure and voltage systems
  • Support electrical equipment outage and maintenance
  • Maintain electrical drawings
  • Perform electrical reviews of management of change plans and work plans
  • Coordinate and review arc flash studies and implementing improvements

Required Skills:

  • Commitment to safety as an utmost priority
  • Demonstrated proficiency in National Electric Code and industry standard methodologies
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD or other CAD systems

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent organizational/interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant Engineering field, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology
  • FE (E.I.T.) Certification
  • Minimum 4 years of hands‑on engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry, delivering electrical infrastructure reliability work

Preferred Experience:

  • Professional Engineer License
  • Project Management experience
