We are working with a fast growing consultant engineering practice in the Baltimore area that is seeking a Water / Wastewater Project Engineer. In this role you will become part of an established team of engineers working on exciting sewershed study and rehabilitation, new sewer design, water distribution, water/wastewater treatment, and pump station projects in the Mid-Atlantic US.

Your Role:

  • Plan and lead engineering designs in the water / wastewater field, through working knowledge of applicable design criteria, regulatory requirements, standards, and processes
  • Conduct multiple design projects simultaneously
  • Prepare and update project schedules
  • Develop, analyze and document critical design elements
  • Coordinate the efforts of a design team to determine requirements and incorporate feedback. 
  • Provide quality engineering evaluation and design services efficiently with limited supervision to support the project team’s objective and provide customer satisfaction on all projects, delivering projects of high quality on schedule and within budget. 
  • Analyze project requirements and information from alternative studies to develop an accurate report for submittal.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects/tasks
  • Assessing and identifying collection/distribution system performance deficiencies, predicting future issues, and developing solutions for planning and design projects
  • Perform design computations
  • Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
  • Develop or review the construction cost estimate.
  • Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
  • Attend meetings with clients and assist taking meeting minutes
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and understand how they fit into the project and design.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in related design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, and MS Project
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Demonstrated familiarity with hydraulic designs, sewer rehabilitation, water and sewer design, water and water/wastewater pump station and treatment process design, engineering economics, preparation of specifications and engineering report writing
  • Firm grasp of general heavy construction principles; environmental facilities operations-related experience is considered a plus

Required Experience:

  • BS in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • 5-10 years experience in water / wastewater design and planning

Preferred Experience:

  • Professional Engineering License

We are working with a growing employee-owned engineering firm who is looking to add an experienced Bridge Construction Project Manager to their team in Herndon, Virginia.

Your Role:

You will lead a variety of bridge and transportation structure projects at the local, state, and federal level. You will be responsible for delivering all project objectives for assigned bridge and structural design projects including planning, scope, schedule and budget, team coordination, stakeholder communication, risk management, resource management, quality assurance, and reporting.

  • Manage multiple projects in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate and guide all technical resources within the project team to ensure delivery of a high-quality outcome, including development of construction plans and associated submittal documents

We are working with a growing Civil Engineering firm in Virginia Beach, Virginia, who are seeking a motivated mid-level Water Resources Project Engineer with 4-10 years of experience.

You should be well-versed across the Water Resources discipline with demonstrated design experience in drainage and stormwater management design, complex hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and erosion and sediment control design with the supporting capabilities to perform a variety of concurrent design tasks in the civil engineering field. 

Your Role:

You will help grow the Water Resources discipline as part of a multi-discipline engineering office with strong transportation resume and clients. Successful candidates will act as a technical mentor to less experienced engineers, and will grow into a management role for a variety of Water Resource related engineering projects.

  • Develop drainage design and stormwater management design in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using current design software
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography and other topographical or geological data to plan projects
  • Conduct watershed studies and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of Contract Documents including Scopes, Fees, Plans, Reports, Specifications and Cost Estimates
  • Expected to perform daily duties in a collaborative environment with engineers across other disciplines
  • Mentor younger engineers
  • Coordination with contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, and JMT staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines

Required Skills:

  • Experience in stormwater and drainage design for Virginia transportation projects
  • Knowledge and design experience in linear drainage, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control design, complex modeling across several programs and site plan developments for state and Hampton Roads municipalities
