We are working with a growing employee-owned process controls engineering firm who are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Execution Systems Engineer (MES Engineer) to work in the Life Sciences industry remotely in the Raleigh, North Carolina, area. This position is a leadership role, and requires strong problem-solving ability, well-balanced people skills, an aptitude for business efficiency, and an interest in creating partnerships and generate new business for the firm.

This will be hybrid in North Carolina and will include 25% travel. You will need to go into the company’s Raleigh office regularly, especially when you start, as their controls engineering team is based there. Over time you will be based in their Raleigh office, your home office, and on client sites. They eventually want to have an MES office, and you will be involved in establishing this.

Your Role:

  • You will work to deliver innovative MES solutions and design standards for Life Sciences clients, either individually or as a leader of a team.
  • You will work remotely, within the state of North Carolina, and travel up to 25%, visiting clients to manage projects, and engage new business,
  • You will act as a solution architect and must have the ability to conceptualize, detail, and implement MES Solutions for industrial processes and machinery that meet the customers’ requirements.  This involves the development of an MES strategy that integrates process knowledge, equipment design, and quality standards with information technology to reduce downtime, elevate the level of regulatory compliance, and introduce efficiency gains through the effective use of available technologies.
  • You will often perform project management: developing project execution plans, work breakdown structures, and associated budgets, task prioritization and scheduling, task ordering, time tracking, and reporting, financial tracking and reporting, early problem identification, conflict management/resolution, leading and supporting a team, and attending project status meetings.
  • You will oversee daily operations and activities of project up to $1M, and will be responsible for ensuring the overall profitability of the project.
  • You will act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level engineers and technicians, as well as act as Project Manager on smaller projects.
  • You will attend trade shows and association meetings to connect with new customers

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in software design and configuration of MES solutions with integration capabilities to level two and four systems.
  • A diverse engineering skillset with the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements of the life science industry such as cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with designing and implementing integrated EBR recipes using GAMP5, S88, and S95 standards
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and system configuration and proven ability to make informed recommendations regarding optimal system configuration
  • Understanding of warehouse and inventory management specifically in a GMP facility
  • Support software and configuration required for external systems interfaces such as DeltaV, SAP, LIMS, PI, and Maximo
  • Strong knowledge of historian technology and reporting systems
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL, Oracle, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of IT/OT networking
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products

Required Experience:

  • BS or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or Applied Sciences
  • 10+ years experience in the following:
    • MES solution deployment experience with but not limited to Werum PAS-X, Sepasoft, or POMS
    • Proven experience with all phases of MES projects including conceptual, basis of design, implementation, testing, start-up, and commissioning in the Life Science industry
  • 4+ years experience leading a team of engineers/technicians to provide MES solutions
  • 4+ years experience in the Life Sciences industry
  • Experience mentoring less experienced engineers

We are seeking a Senior PLC Controls Engineer to join the team at a growing engineering consulting firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to provide team leadership in delivering automation systems for a wide variety of industries, implementing automation solutions with multiple control systems including PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms, with emphasis on Rockwell and Cimplicity.

Your Role:

In this role you will interact directly with the customer and lead a team of engineers in identifying requirements, developing specifications, and implementing/testing/commissioning/qualifying automation solutions. This position is a leadership role within the business unit and requires strong problem-solving ability, well-balanced people skills, an aptitude for business efficiency, and an interest in creating partnerships.

  • You will deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards either on your own or as a leader of a team.
  • You must have the ability to conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery that meet our customer’s requirements.  This involves the development of a control system architecture, selecting the components to be used, detailing schematic diagrams and system documentation, programming controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU), programming the process visualization (HMI/SCADA), developing databases for archiving/displaying historical system data and implementing/commissioning the control system at the client’s facility.  
  • Knowledge of controller programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and others to achieve the desired results is required.  
  • Also having knowledge of standard programming languages such as VBA, .NET, and SQL for the development of HMI/SCADA systems is preferred
  • For larger systems, experience with industrial networking used to connect control system components and instrumentation is preferred.

We are working with a growing employee-owned automation and controls engineering firm, who is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with extensive experience with Emerson DeltaV systems, to lead the design, implementation, and project management of large-scale capital automation projects within the Life Sciences industry, working from their office in Raleigh, North Carolina. You will also travel up to 25% to client sites for site support and commissioning.

Your Role:

This role requires proficiency with Emerson DeltaV systems and a strong technical background in designing and delivering cGMP-compliant automation solutions.. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complete project life cycles, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize biopharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing processes.

  • Design and implement DeltaV control systems for complex Life Sciences capital projects
