Experience Required: 5-10 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, automation, motion control, or linear motion systems. Minimum 3 years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline

We are working with a growing provider of automated linear motion products and engineered assemblies for manufacturing use, who is actively seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead leading the engineering function for the design, development, customization, and continuous improvement of their systems.

Your Role:

You will oversee engineering documentation, product design, project execution, technical support, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and Customers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet customer and market requirements.

  • Engineering Leadership
    • Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through production.
    • Oversee the design, development, modification, and improvement of linear motion products, assemblies, and systems.
    • Establish engineering priorities and allocate resources to support business objectives.
    • Develop and maintain engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Product Design & Development
    • Design and validate new products, custom solutions, and engineered assemblies.
    • Evaluate customer requirements and develop technical solutions that meet application specifications.
    • Perform product performance analysis, troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement activities.
    • Support manufacturing and operations in resolving design and production issues.
  • Engineering Documentation & Quality Control
    • Maintain control of all engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and related technical documentation.
    • Ensure engineering documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with company quality procedures.
    • Manage engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Customer & Sales Support
    • Provide technical support to customers, distributors, and internal sales teams.
    • Participate in customer meetings, application reviews, and technical presentations as required.
    • Assist Sales with product selection, quotations, special applications, and technical proposals.
    • Respond to technical inquiries and support resolution of customer issues.
  • Contract Review & Project Management
    • Review customer specifications, contracts, and technical requirements for special products and custom-engineered assemblies.
    • Ensure product designs meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
    • Coordinate project timelines and deliverables across departments.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for design, manufacturing, and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, and productivity.
    • Participate in strategic planning for new technologies and product development opportunities.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Skills
    • Strong knowledge of linear motion products, mechanical systems, bearings, actuators, guides, and motion control applications.
    • Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam, or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably M2M or similar platforms.
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards.
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, and quality control.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline

Preferred Experience:

  • Advanced degree
  • Professional certifications
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Experience with custom machinery, engineered assemblies, and product development is highly desirable.
  • Experience with automation, motion control, or linear motion systems.
  • Strong knowledge of linear motion products, mechanical systems, bearings, actuators, guides, and motion control applications.
