We are working with a growing company that is actively seeking several experienced Electrical Engineers to lead the design and optimization of electrical systems to power pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities.
This role will be based originally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for approximately two (2) years. Once the initial project is complete, you will be expected to relocate to either Tulsa, Oklahoma or Houston, Texas, depending on future project needs. NOTE: Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to be considered for this role.
Your Role:
You will lead the design and optimization of electrical systems that power essential infrastructure—pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities.You will apply your technical expertise to integrate advanced technologies like automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage, driving efficiency and innovation across operations. This is a high-impact role where your leadership and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to operational reliability, safety, and strategic growth.
- Ensure safety in the gas pipeline construction process through the implementation of arc flash mitigation, fault detection systems, and rigorous compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- Manage complex engineering projects from concept to completion ensuring alignment with business goals timelines and budget constraints.
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting critical infrastructure such as pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities.
- Champion the integration of advanced technologies including automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs.
- Provide technical expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for both new construction and upgrades to existing facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and regulatory standards across electrical systems and project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet internal and external customer needs
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, fostering technical growth knowledge sharing and a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of power system design, analysis, and simulation (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink or similar tools)
- Knowledge of high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, and switchgear
- Understanding of grid integration and renewable energy systems
- Experience in managing procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials, with established industry contacts for sourcing reliable vendors and suppliers
- Demonstrated excellent organizational/interpersonal skills, with safety as a main priority
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in overseeing the (FAT) commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with design specifications
- Proficiency in designing, and implementing, Instrumentation systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems
- Project Management experience
- Experience working in Preliminary-Front End Engineering and Design (Pre-FEED), Front End Engineering Design (FEED), or Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) of small to medium facility projects
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4 – 10+ years engineering experience in natural gas, data centers or related industry
Preferred Experience:
- Professional Engineer License is highly preferred
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
