We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst for a six month contract to support a growing engineering firm in Houston Texas.

Your Role:

Work with large data sets in a hybrid cloud environment to develop descriptive statistical models to solve business problems
Support full life cycle of developed solutions and data warehouses including managing changes, production support, server/cloud optimization, and continual solution improvement
Work with individuals at all levels of the organization to understand business needs and challenges, and recommends and implements improvements as well as solves problems with existing solutions when incidents occur
Develop, build, and maintain the company Business Intelligence infrastructure and data warehouse
Solves problem within SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and SSRS failures and defects and resolves issues timely
Collaborate across the enterprise to understand needs of the business and skillsets of citizen develops in order to continually improve business practices, architecture, data availability, and application support
Develops and delivers training and contributes to policies and procedures to support citizen development efforts

Required Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
Proficiency in Database (SQL, Oracle)
Solid understanding of data warehousing (SQL, Synapse)
Solid understanding of ETL and Job Management
Solid understanding of BI development and associated reports and dashboards (Power BI)
Solid understanding of OLAP/CUBE design
Solid understanding of multi-dimensional database structures (e.g. star schemas)

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in Azure analytics platform (e.g. synapse, data bricks, data factory)
Microsoft certified – Azure Fundamentals
Microsoft certified – Azure Data Fundamentals

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience including one (1) year supporting a major technology application

Preferred Experience:
