We are working with an established environmental consulting, engineering, and remediation services firm located just north of Detroit, Michigan, which is actively seeking a Project Manager who is experienced in managing Brownfield environmental redevelopment projects, including conducting Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.

Your Role:

In this role you will be responsible for managing environmental site assessments, remediation activities, redevelopment efforts, and incentives, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, client expectations, and sustainability goals.

  • Manage all phases of Brownfield redevelopment projects, including site assessment, remediation, design, and construction.
  • Advise clients and municipalities on redevelopment incentives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including EPA, CERCLA, and state Brownfield programs.
  • Collaborate with public and private stakeholders, including developers, local governments, community groups, and environmental consultants.
  • Lead and/or provide support for the development of project proposals.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and track costs.
  • Monitor schedules to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Identify project risks, develops mitigation strategies, and resolves issues as they arise.
  • Establish goals for the projects and assists with achievement of QA/QC goals.
  • Leads multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, planners, and contractors, to achieve project objectives.
  • Provides on-going communication with the client related to the project.
  • Prepares client-billing information on assigned projects and manages collections on outstanding accounts receivable balances.
  • Identifies additional scope and revenue opportunities that relate to the project.
  • Participate in business development activities.
  • Mentor company staff, and cultivate strong working relationships with clients.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10 years of Brownfield redevelopment and/or environmental remediation experience.
  • 5 years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
  • Experience in remediation technologies and compliance frameworks.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with redevelopment incentives.
